AMERICA ON THE MOVE IN PITTSBURGH
“America On the Move in Pittsburgh” is hosted by the University of Pittsburgh in
collaboration with corporate and community partners that include UPMC Health
Plan, HJ Heinz, Del Monte, and KDKA-TV. The mission of this coalition of
partners is to improve the health of individuals in the Greater Pittsburgh and
Western Pennsylvania region by encouraging moderate increases in physical
activity and small reductions in the amount of food eaten. Moreover, this
initiative focuses on the prevention and treatment of childhood obesity through
the “Schools On the Move” initiative. With these changes Pittsburgh and Western
Pennsylvania can become “America’s Healthiest Region!” Additional information
